Bhubaneswar, Jan 2: Odisha Governor designate Hari Babu Kambhampati today arrived at the Biju Patnaik International Airport in Bhubaneswar. He received a guard of honour after arriving at the airport.
Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, Deputy Chief Ministers Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo and Pravati Parida received Kambhampati at the airport.
Thereafter, he headed to Puri to seek the blessings of Lord Jagannath.
The Governor will spend the night at Puri Raj Bhavan and is scheduled to visit the Srimandir on the morning of January 3. Later that day, at 10:15 am, he will return to Bhubaneswar, where Chief Justice of the Orissa High Court will administer the oath of office and secrecy to him in the Abhishek Hall of Raj Bhavan.
Preparations are underway to ensure a smooth swearing-in ceremony.
Notably, Kambhampati, who is currently serving as the Governor of Mizoram, is set to take office as the new Governor of Odisha on January 3, 2025. He will succeed Raghubar Das, who resigned from the position earlier this year.
