Balangir, Dec 13: An Odisha Police Constable was suspended on Friday for murderous attack on his wife who is also a Constable.
Bolangir Superintendent of Police (SP) Khilari Rishikesh Dnyandeo put the cop identified as Jyoti Pradhan under suspension following a probe into the matter.
On the other hand, the district police office is taking care of the woman cop Nupur Biswal who is undergoing treatment for her critical condition.
According to report, an altercation erupted between Jyoti and his wife, Nupur while they were returning home from a marriage party. Aggrieved over it Jyoti, assisted by his acquaintance Jagannath Pradhan, made a murderous attack on Nupur who was left unconscious on the road. She was rushed to the hospital for treatment where she expressed her ordeal before the police.
Based on the complaint, the Tusura police had registered a case and tried to apprehend the cop and his aide, but in vain. Meanwhile, the Tusura Police had apprehended Jagannath Pradhan and brought him before the judiciary, while Jyoti Pradhan remains yet at large.
