Bhubaneswar, April 28: Odisha is reeling under severe heat wave conditions with four places in the state recording temperature above 40 degree Celsius till 11:30 am today.
While Bhubaneswar topped the list of hottest places in Odisha with 41.6 degree Celsius, it was followed by Balasore with 40.7 degree Celsius.
Similarly, Chandbali recorded 40.2 degree Celsius and Keonjhar witnessed 40 degree Celsius temperature.
The temperatures recorded at other places are as follows:
- Jharsuguda: 39.5°C
- Sambalpur: 39.4°C
- Rourkela: 39.4°C
- Hirakud: 37.8°C
- Puri: 34.2°C
- Gopalpur: 33.5°C
- Paradip: 33.4°C
The regional centre of India Meteorological Department (IMD) in Bhubaneswar has issued has issued red alert (severe heat wave) for 13 districts including twin cities of Bhubaneswar-Cuttack for next 24 hours.
