Acting on a tip-off, Vigilance conducted a raid and arrested Rout while demanding and acceptinf bribe of Rs 3,000 as 1st instalment of overall demand of Rs 12,500 from a Complainant to issue certified copies of orders in mutation cases

Cuttack, June 28: Odisha Vigilance on Friday apprehended a Senior Revenue Assistant (SRA) for demanding and accepting bribe from a complainant.

The accused has been identified as Prasanta Kumar Rout, senior Revenue Assistant (SRA) of Damapada Tahasil in Odisha’sCuttack district.

Acting on a tip-off, Vigilance conducted a raid and arrested Rout while demanding and acceptinf bribe of Rs 3,000 as 1st instalment of overall demand of Rs 12,500 from a Complainant to issue certified copies of orders in mutation cases.

The entire bribe money has been recovered and seized.

Following the successful trap, simultaneous searches are going on at two locations of Sri Rout from DA angle. Further investigation is in progress against accused Rout.
