Koraput, Feb 27: In a tragic incident, at least two persons were killed and another person sustained critical injuries after the bike they were travelling on fell off a bridge in Nandapur block of Odisha's Koraput district this morning.
The deceased persons have been identified as residents of Sadam village in Pottangi block of the district.
As per reports, the incident took place at Andarigada canal in Chatua panchayat of Nandapur block bordering Andhra Pradesh when three persons were travelling on a bike. The ill-fated vehicle fell from a bridge and plunged into Andarigada canal.
In the mishap, two persons died on the spot and one sustained critical injuries. The injured person, identified as Tripati Khara, was rushed to Nandapur Community Healthcare Centre (CHC) for medical treatment.
It is suspected that one of them was a minor.
Upon getting the information, police arrived at the spot and launched an investigation into the matter.
The cops also seized the bodies of the deceased persons and sent them for post-mortem.
