Bhubaneswar, November 6: In a major anti-corruption drive, the Odisha Vigilance Department has unearthed assets valued over ₹3 crore, linked to Bijay Kumar Udaysingh, a Junior Manager (Civil) in the Building Construction Division (BCD-II) of the Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation (IDCO), Bhubaneswar.
During Wednesday’s raids, vigilance officials discovered a four-storey palatial building in Arya Vihar, Bhubaneswar, worth approximately ₹3.22 crore, along with a flat in Balukhanda, Puri, and three premium homestead plots across Bhubaneswar and Khordha. A technical assessment team is currently verifying the accurate valuation of these properties.
In addition to real estate, Udaysingh’s assets include bank deposits of ₹55.5 lakh, insurance policies, cash worth ₹4.5 lakh, a car, three motorcycles, gold, and household items amounting to nearly ₹29 lakh.
The vigilance team, consisting of eight DSPs, eight inspectors, and support staff, conducted simultaneous searches across six locations, including Udaysingh’s Bhubaneswar and Puri residences, a crusher in his village, and his office at IDCO.
Y.K. Jethwa, Director, Odisha Vigilance Department recently informed about details of corruption cases involving 14 engineers and officials with the Income Tax and Enforcement Directorate for further investigation.
