New Delhi, Jan 20: Tragedy struck just days before what should have been the happiest moment of his life. A man who was on his way to distribute invitation cards for his wedding met an untimely and devastating fate as he was burnt alive after the car he was travelling in caught fire in Delhi on Saturday night.
The deceased has been identified as Anil, a resident of Nawada. His wedding was scheduled on February 14.
As per reports, the mishap took place near Baba Banquet Hall in Ghazipur when the Wagon R driven by the man was charred completely after catching fire, especially the driver's side and he was burned to death inside the car. The exact cause behind the fire is yet to be ascertained.
According to his family members, Anil went out to distribute his wedding invitation cards in the afternoon and did not return till late evening. Worried about his whereabouts, his family members tried calling him but his phone was switched off.
Around 11-11:30, they received a phone call from police wherein they were informed that Anil has met with an accident and he is in hospital.
The cops have seized the victim's body and sent it for post-mortem. Further investigation into the matter was underway.
