Visakhapatnam, January 8: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday evening held a roadshow today in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, where he was joined by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan.
During the roadshow, large crowds gathered along the streets, cheering and waving at the Prime Minister as his convoy passed by.
Earlier in the day, PM Modi arrived in Visakhapatnam and was welcomed at the airport by Andhra Pradesh’s Chief Minister Naidu, Deputy CM Kalyan, Governor S. Abdul Nazeer, and other local leaders, as confirmed by the Prime Minister's Office.
During his visit, the Prime Minister inaugurated and laid the foundation for several major infrastructure projects worth over ₹19,500 crore. These include railway and road projects aimed at improving connectivity, easing congestion, and boosting regional economic and social development. One of the key projects is the foundation stone for the South Coast Railway Headquarters in Visakhapatnam.
PM Modi also laid the foundation for the Bulk Drug Park at Nakkapalli in Anakapalli district. This park is expected to generate thousands of jobs and foster economic growth
Additionally, the Prime Minister inaugurated the Krishnapatnam Industrial Area (KRIS City) in Tirupati District. This industrial hub, part of the National Industrial Corridor Development Programme, is planned as a smart, greenfield city that will attract significant investment. The project is expected to bring in ₹10,500 crore in manufacturing investments and create around 100,000 direct and indirect jobs.
