Bhubaneswar, Oct 26: A NEET aspirant from Odisha was found dead under mysterious circumstances in his hostel room in Kota, Rajasthan, on Saturday.

The deceased has been identified as Roshan Kumar Patro, a resident of Abhayapur under Jarada police limits in Ganjam district, Odisha.

Patro had moved to Kota about four months ago to prepare for the NEET examination and was enrolled at a reputed coaching institute. He was staying at a private hostel in the Rajiv Gandhi Nagar area of the city.

According to sources, Patro and his friends studied together late into Friday night. However, he did not come out of his room on Saturday morning. When he failed to appear for lunch, his friends knocked on his door but received no response. They then alerted the hostel authorities.

After the hostel management broke open the door, Patro was found lying on his bed with vomit around his mouth. He was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared him dead on arrival.

Upon being informed, the Jawahar Nagar police reached the scene and launched an investigation to ascertain the exact cause of death.
