Koraput, Nov 22: At least, four persons were killed in an accident near Jeypore in Koraput district today.
The deceased have been identified as Dhoba Paraja (25), Loknath Jani (18), Ghasi Paraja (11), and Dhanpati Paraja (13) of Bichalkota village under Boipariguda block.
The incident occurred on National Highway-26 near Jabakanaditha under Jeypore Sadar police limits in Odisha's Koraput district when they were heading towards Bhatachinchi on the two-wheeler- a truck hit the motorcycles killing three on spot. While another injured person who was immediately rushed to the nearby hospital in a critical condition and later shifted to Koraput District Headquarters Hospital succumbed to the injuries.
On being informed, police reached the spot, sent the bodies for post-mortem, and started an investigation into the matter.
Meanwhile, hundreds of vehicles remained stranded on the National Highway due to the blockade.
