New Delhi, January 6: Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Monday pledged to eliminate Naxal insurgents from India by March 2026, reaffirming that the sacrifice of those killed in the recent Naxal attack in Chhattisgarh would not be forgotten.
Shah's remarks followed the tragic incident in Bijapur district, Chhattisgarh, where eight members of the District Reserve Guard (DRG) and a civilian driver were killed when Naxals detonated a powerful improvised explosive device (IED) targeting their vehicle.
"I am deeply saddened by the tragic loss of our brave DRG personnel in the IED blast in Bijapur," Shah said in a statement. "I offer my heartfelt condolences to the families of these courageous soldiers."
