Mumbai, January 21: Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan, who was hospitalized following a knife attack at his residence, has been discharged after undergoing medical treatment and recovering from his injuries.
Earlier today, Saif’s wife, Kareena Kapoor Khan, was spotted arriving at Lilavati Hospital in Bandra, Mumbai, ahead of his discharge. She appeared to be finalizing paperwork and signing off on the necessary documents. After completing the formalities, Kareena left the hospital, though she seemed visibly tense, speaking on her phone inside the car.
Saif was accompanied by his daughter from his first marriage, Sara Ali Khan, as well as Kareena. Meanwhile, a document related to an insurance claim reportedly filed by the actor has gone viral on social media. The document details an initial claim request of Rs 35,98,700, which was later approved for Rs 2,50,00,000. The claim mentioned an injury to an unspecified body part. However, it is important to note that the document has not been verified by the hospital.
The attack occurred early Thursday morning when an assailant entered Saif’s Bandra home through the room of his youngest son, Jeh. Reports indicate that the intruder first attacked the household staff, and when Saif intervened, he was stabbed multiple times. The actor sustained six stab wounds, two of which were particularly serious as they were close to his spine. Doctors removed a 2.5-inch knife from his injury during surgery. Saif was later moved to the ICU, where he is said to be out of danger.
The incident unfolded around 2:15 AM when Saif, hearing a commotion in Jeh’s room, went to investigate and found the intruder in a confrontation with the house help. In an attempt to protect the staff, Saif bravely confronted the burglar, ultimately being injured in the process
