Mumbai, January 22: Bollywood star Saif Ali Khan on Wednesday met auto-rickshaw driver Bhajan Singh Rana, who rushed him to hospital after he was injured in a knife attack at his home in Mumbai, and thanked him for the help.
The actor also gave the driver some money and assured him he would help him whenever needed.
The attack occurred early Thursday morning when an assailant entered Saif’s Bandra home through the room of his youngest son, Jeh. Reports indicate that the intruder first attacked the household staff, and when Saif intervened, he was stabbed multiple times. The actor sustained six stab wounds, two of which were particularly serious as they were close to his spine. Doctors removed a 2.5-inch knife from his injury during surgery. Saif was later moved to the ICU, where he is said to be out of danger.
The incident unfolded around 2:15 AM when Saif, hearing a commotion in Jeh’s room, went to investigate and found the intruder in a confrontation with the house help. In an attempt to protect the staff, Saif bravely confronted the burglar, ultimately being injured in the process
