Nabarangpur, Dec 22: In a tragic mishap, at least two people were killed after a scooty collided head-on with a motorbike near the Glez Hotel in Odisha’s Nabarangpur district late last night.
The deceased have been identified as Amit Bag and Trilochan Jani.
As per reports, the mishap occurred when Trilochan, employed at a roadside eatery in Ahuli village, was returning home on his scooter when he collided with Amit, who had visited Nabarangpur to buy decorations for Christmas and New Year. After shopping, Amit was heading back to his village in Nandahandi block when their vehicles crashed head-on, resulting in a tragic mishap.
Following the mishap, local residents rescued the victims and rushed them to Nabarangpur District Headquarters Hospital (DHH) where the attending doctors declared them dead. Upon getting the information, police arrived at the hospital and seized the bodies before sending them for post-mortem.
Further investigations into the matter were underway.
