Bengaluru, Sept 22: A gruesome murder like Shraddha Walkar’s was found replayed in Bengaluru City on Sunday.
A young woman’s chopped off body stuffed in fridger for days was recovered from a house in the Veeranna Bhavana near Pipeline Road, under the Vyalikaval police limits.
As per preliminary investigation, the deceased woman has been identified as Mahalaxmi who is suspected to hail from West Bengal.
The incident came to light when neighbours noticed a foul smell emanating from the victim's house for two days and informed police in this connection.
Acting on it, a police team reached the spot who recovered the rotten body parts of the victims stuffed into a 165-litre fridge.
According to police, victim Mahalaxmi who worked as a sales person in a city-based mall after her marital discord with husband, started living in the rented house five to six months ago. As per the locals, she lived alone and did not mingle much with her neighbours. For a few days, her brother had been staying with her.
Additional Police Commissioner, Crime, N. Satish Kumar told media that it seems one person has committed the act of murder, chopped the body into over 30 pieces, and stuffed them into the single-door fridge at her house.
Police has intensified the investigation with interrogating the deceased’s husband who is suspected to web out the killing bid aggrieved over the marital discord, said the investigation officer.
