Cuttack, Nov 8: Six persons, including a minor, have been arrested in Cuttack city for allegedly gang-raping a 19-year-old college student over several days and recording the acts on video.
According to police, the woman filed a complaint with the Badambadi Police Station, accusing her boyfriend and several others, including a café owner, of the heinous crime.
The incident reportedly took place during the Dussehra festival when the victim along with her boyfriend visited a café in Purighat Police Station limits to celebrate her birthday.
The accused allegedly used the intimate videos captured at the café to blackmail the woman and subsequently subjected her to repeated sexual assaults.
Based on the victim's complaint, police arrested the boyfriend, café owner, and four others on charges of gang rape.
The seized mobile phones containing the explicit videos have been sent to the State Forensic Science Laboratory in Bhubaneswar for further analysis.
