Bhubaneswar, November 30: In a significant crackdown, Odisha Police dismantled an illegal arms manufacturing operation in Nayagarh district and arrested two individuals. The operation took place on Saturday evening after receiving reliable intelligence, Nayagarh Superintendent of Police (SP) S. Susree said.
Acting on a tip-off, a team from the Ranpur Police Station raided a house in Godipada village. During the raid, they uncovered a hidden arms production unit where country-made firearms were being manufactured and stored.
The two arrested suspects are now facing charges related to the illegal production and possession of weapons.
Police are continuing their investigation into the network behind the illegal arms operation.
