Bhubaneswar, Feb. 25: More than 450 delegates including healthcare professionals, medical record specialists and industry experts attended the two-day 24th annual national conference of Health Records Association of India (HERAI) which concluded at the SUM Ultimate Medicare (SUMUM) here on Saturday.
The event, organised by the Medical Records Department of the hospital, was inaugurated on Friday by Dr. Swetapadma Dash, Chief Executive Officer of SUMUM in the presence of Brig. (Dr.) Biraj Mohan Mishra, Chief of Medical Services, Suresh Carleton, President and Wilson Thaya G., Secretary respectively of HERAI.
Medical Records are going to be the major source of data for hospitals for the Artificial Intelligence revolution, Dr. Dash said adding they were the bedrock on which extension of quality healthcare to the patients depended .
The theme of the conference was ‘Current Trends in Medical Records and Health Information Management with Reference to Quality Accreditation and Medico Legal Aspects’. The event featured keynote sessions, panel discussions, workshops and presentations on the latest advancement and best practices in the field of Medical Records and Health Information Management.
Dr. Dash also inaugurated the website and online portal of HERAI and presented the Dr. Daniel Gajraj award to seven members of the Odisha chapter of HERAI for their outstanding contribution in the field of medical records for more than two decades.
The awardees were Bijay Kumar Behera, Prafulla Chandra Rana, Manoj Kumar Behera, Narayan Chandra Behera, Ajay Kumar Mohapatra, Sujit Kumar Roul and Ratikant Barik.
