Bhubaneswar, August 23: A handful tribal people staged a protest before an apartment in Bhubaneswar on Tuesday over encroachment of their land. Sources said that Samasti Builder had acquired 1.20 acres of land in 2006-07 that belongs to the Ghatikia village, to develop an apartment on it. The project could not get the approval of the BMC as the builder had sought no permission from the landowners. {"id":207480,"sizeSlug":"full","linkDestination":"none"} However, the builder has developed the project despite the stricture of the BMC whereas the ROR of the lands were not surrendered to as many as 10 landowners. Following this, the affected ROR holders moved police station and District administration, Khordha to help them in this regard but in vain. Acting on it, some tribal people staged a dharna before the Samasti Green apartment and demanded to refund their land right records.
