Angul, January 3: In an unusual event, two kids were shot at by a miscreant in the Kishorenagar area in the Angul district on Friday.
The incident took place at the Bangamunda village under the Kishornagar police late at night on Thursday.
The injured ones are two siblings, identified as Prakash Mirdha(11) and his sister Janjyaseni Mirdha (15).
As per reports, the siblings were fast asleep while some miscreants broke into their house and opened fire at them. Janjyaseni has sustained serious injuries on her stomach and her condition is stated to be critical.
Family members rushed to the Kishorenagar community health centre in a critical condition. Later they were shifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack as their condition deteriorated.
The reason behind the incident is yet to be ascertained.
The police have initiated an investigation to dig out if it’s a burglary or violence related to some other causes.
