Islamabad, Nov 23: At least 37 people were killed and many more injured in Pakistan on Saturday after a violent class between the sections of Alizai and Bagan tribes.
The deaths have been reported from the Pakistan's restive Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province during the last 24 hours, police said.
The clashes between the two tribes in Kurram district, bordering Afghanistan, took place as an avenge of the Thursday's attack, that was on a convoy of passenger vans near Parachinar in which 47 people were reportedly killed.
Apart from the loss of lives, homes and shops were also damaged in the fighting and people from various villages have fled to safer locations.
Worth mentioning, the tribes are targeting each other with heavy and automatic weapons, police said.
Following the clashes, all educational institutions and business hubs in the district remained closed to get rid of further untoward situations, sources added.
