Bhubaneswar, April 16: The Odisha government has asked the headmasters/headmistresses of all government schools to take at least two classes daily.
The Board of Secondary Education (BSE) on Monday wrote to all District Education Officers (DEOs) following directive of the School and Mass Education Department.
The BSE has asked the DEOs to ensure classroom teaching by headmasters/headmistresses along with school management works.
As a headmaster/headmistress is the most experienced and qualified person in the school, he/she should take at least two classes daily and make supervision of the classes being taken up by other teachers, the BSE said.
Notably, the School and Mass Education Department had issued a notice in this regard earlier on April 5, 2021.
However, it is alleged that the head of the schools are skipping classes by involving themselves in management activities and official works following which the department further issued the directive.
