Patna, Apr 25: A youth leader from Janata Dal-United (JDU) was shot dead in Bihar’s Patna late last night. As per reports, the deceased, identified as Saurabh Kumar, was returning home from a wedding function when four bike-borne miscreants opened fire at him. He was reportedly shot twice in his head and neck.
Another person identified as Munmun Kumar, who was accompanying Saurabh, has also suffered three bullet injuries. The duo was rushed to a hospital where Saurabh was declared brought dead by the doctors and Munmun was admitted in a critical condition. Irate over this, locals and JDU supporters gathered at the spot and staged a road blockade protesting the murder and demanded strict action.
Upon getting the information, police arrived at the spot and pacified the agitators. The CCTV footages are being analyzed and we are investigating the case from all angles, including politics and business relations, said the police. After learning about the murder, Lalu Prasad Yadav's daughter Misa Bharti arrived in Punpun to meet the victim's family members.
