Noida/Mumbai, April 16:The Swabhimani Odia Women’s World outfit celebrated Odia New year in Delhi and Mumbai on the occasion of Maha Bishuba Sankranti(Pana Sankranti) on Sunday.
In a grand festivity organized by the women forum at Prateek Wisteria Club, Noida in New Delhi, hundreds of women from the Odia Community enjoyed the Pana Sankranti with traditional bael juice and typical Odia events.
With another celebration held by the Swabhimani Odia Women’s World, Mumbai Chapter, women from the Odia Community celebrated Odisha Fest- 2024 to mark the Pana Sankranti and Odia New year’s day.
The women forum in New Delhi, organized a plethora of cultural programs on the occasion apart from a formal meeting held on Women and National Development. Kids and women groups performed Odissi and other contemporary dance along with a Fashion Show. Surali Mohanty was crowned the best performer in the fashion show, leaving behind scores of competitors.
Among others Agnisiksha Jena, Chairperson of the forum accompanied by Sanghamitra, Geetanjali and Paridhi meticulously managed the events based on Odia culture and tradition.
Similarly, during the Odisha Fest-2024 in Mumbai, a series of events including a portrait exhibition, workshop on crafting Trinity–Jagannath, Balabhadra and Subhadra with clay and a fashion show namely Thread & Talk, were organized.
