Cuttack, Jan 10: In a major crackdown, Jagatpur police conducted a raid on a tyre factory that was allegedly selling counterfeit tyres under the names of well-known companies.

The fake manufacturing unit’s owner was apprehended.

Sources said, owner of this fake manufacturing unit had started selling the duplicate tyres in Odisha’s rural areas through agents. A team of police acted swiftly upon receiving information from a complainants.

Authorities have sealed the warehouse and detained the owner for further questioning.

The Jagatpur police have initiated an investigation into the matter.
