Bhubaneswar, June 27: Heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Rayagada, Kalahandi,Gajapati, Koraput, Malkangiri, Nawarangpur, Nayagarh, Cuttack, Angul, Dhenkanal during the next 24 hours, Bhubaneswar meteorological centre said on Wednesday afternoon.
Similarly, one or two places over the districts of Ganjam, Kandhamal, Puri and Khurda are very likely to experience heavy to very heavy rainfall during this period, it added.
Thunderstorm with lightning accompanied with gusty surface windspeed reaching 30-40 kmph is likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj ,Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati,Nuapada, Bolangir and Sonepur.
The cyclonic circulation over westcentral & adjoining northwest Bay of Bengal now lies over northwest & adjoining westcentral Bay of Bengal and extends upto 5.8 km above mean sea level tilting southwestwards with height, the IMD bulletin read.
