Bhubaneswar, Sep 22:  The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted heavy rainfall in several parts of Odisha over the next 24 hours.

The forecast is due to the development of a low-pressure area in the west-central Bay of Bengal, expected around Monday, September 23, influenced by upper air cyclonic circulations.

A yellow warning for thunderstorms and lightning has been issued for the next 24 hours, particularly affecting the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Boudh, Kandhamal, Kalahandi, Nabarangpur, Nuapada, Rayagada, Koraput, Angul, Dhenkanal, and Deogarh.

Residents in these regions are advised to remain cautious and prepared for potential disruptions caused by heavy rains and thunderstorms.
