Bhubaneswar, Sept 20: Pravati Parida, Deputy Chief Minister of Odisha & Minister, Department of Mission Shakti on Friday inaugurated the Mission Shakti Auditorium and the mission shakti call center.
It is a state-of-the-art facility with a seating capacity of four hundred, constructed by IDCO with an expenditure of Seven crore fifty-nine lakh, in the premises of Mission Shakti Bhawan, Pokhariput. The auditorium is designed to host a wide range of events including training and capacity-building program, seminars, workshops, and product launches, benefiting SHGs and their Federations. This infrastructure will play a key role in the continued development and empowerment of women collectives across the state.
Apart from that Parida also inaugurated the Mission Shakti Call Centre, in the same premises which will serve as a centralized support hub for all self-help groups. The call center is equipped to handle queries related to Mission Shakti programs, provide personalized assistance to SHG members and gather feedback on ongoing programs and initiatives ensuring a streamlined communication channel between SHGs and the government. The toll-free number 155276 will be operational from 10.00 AM to 5.30 PM on every working day.
The Deputy Chief Minister applauded the efforts of the Department of Mission Shakti for its unwavering commitment to fulfill the aspirations of women across the state, highlighting the Department's success in exceeding its 100-day targets including Interest Subvention of Rs 175 crore to SHGs across the state, Providing Government business worth of Rs 530 crore to SHGs and bank linkage worth of over Rs 2340 Crore to SHGs, Creation of over 2.2 lakh Lakhpati Didis and 750 Producer Groups, Establishment of 100 Mission Shakti Retail Marts are some of the achievements in the hundred days of the formation of the government.
Among other dignitaries Babu Singh, MLA, Ekamra Bhubaneswar was also present during the inaugural function. On this occasion Shalini Pandit, Commissioner-cum-Secretary, Department of Mission Shakti, Vineet Bhardwaj, State Mission Director cum CEO, Odisha Livelihoods Mission, Sumitra Patnaik, Additional Secretary, Mission Shakti and Officials of Mission Shakti Department and IDCO were also present.
With these outstanding accomplishments, under the guidance of Pravati Parida, Mission Shakti solidifies its position as a catalyst for transformative change driving women's empowerment and fostering sustainable economic growth across the state. The continued success of its initiatives reflects a deep commitment to uplifting women through financial independence, entrepreneurial opportunities, and institutional support, ensuring lasting socio-economic progress in the state.
