Bhubaneswar, August 27: Rama Chandra Kadam, the leader of the Congress legislative party, recently wrote a letter to Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, demanding an explanation for his silence on the reservation issue affecting SC, ST, and OBC/SEBC communities.

Stating that these communities constitute 94 percent of Odisha's total population, Kadam said many of them were at risk of being denied their constitutional rights in the upcoming MBBS/BDS admission process.

Kadam expressed his concern that approximately 255 MBBS/BDS seats are lost by SC and ST students annually, while OBC students lose around 400 medical seats due to the lack of adequate reservations. \

Emphasized the urgency of addressing this issue before the admission process that begins on August 29 , he urged the Chief Minister to provide reservation benefits to OBCs, starting with the upcoming admissions.

Kadam also called on the CM to make a clear statement on this issue in the state assembly.
