Jharsuguda, Mar 20: In a midnight heist, miscreants allegedly uprooted an ATM of the Central Bank of India using an excavator and fled with it in Sadar police station area in Odisha's Jharsuguda district late last night.
As per reports, miscreants arrived at the ATM located at BTM Chhak under Sadar police limits in the district with a JCB machine and uprooted it before fleeing the spot.
Upon getting the information, police arrived at the spot and launched a probe into the matter.
Meanwhile, the police have detained the excavator's owner for questioning in connection with the loot.
The cops also recovered the stolen ATM which was found damaged and the cash inside it was missing.
Further efforts are on to identify and apprehend the culprits, said the police.
