Bhubaneswar, Mar 19: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi is set to inaugurate the 19th Toshali National Crafts Mela at Janata Maidan in Bhubaneswar today.
As per reports, the crafts fair is being organized by the Odisha government’s Handlooms, Textiles & Handicrafts Department and will showcase over 650 stalls featuring a wide range of handicrafts, handlooms, and traditional Odia cuisines.
The 13-day event will continue until March 31 and showcase Odisha’s rich cultural heritage and promote its handicrafts and handlooms. A 2500 square feet theme pavilion, ‘Shilpa Srujanee’, will be the main attraction of the event.
The organizers anticipate around 30 lakh visitors and have made extensive arrangements for their convenience. Security, medical assistance, ambulance services, drinking water, toilets, ATMs, and wheelchair facilities for the elderly and differently-abled have been set up.
Additionally, a separate childcare room has been arranged for mothers and children. The event is expected to generate Rs 28 crore in business.
