New Delhi, June 30: Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke with the Indian Cricket Team over the phone and extended his congratulations for the historic win over South Africa in a nail-biting final of the ICC T20 World Cup.
PM Modi congratulated Rohit Sharma for his exceptional captaincy, praised his T20 career, and commended Virat Kohli for his performance in the final and his contributions to Indian cricket.
He also commended Hardik Pandya for his performance in the final over and praised Surya Kumar Yadav for his crucial catch. PM Modi also acknowledged Jasprit Bumrah's significant contribution.
Additionally, PM Modi expressed gratitude to Rahul Dravid for his contributions to Indian cricket.
"Congratulations to Team India from all our countrymen on this magnificent victory in the ICC Men's T20 World Cup. Today, 1.4 billion Indians will be proud of your performance. You clinched the World Cup on the sports field, but your performance has won the hearts of millions of Indian citizens," PM Modi said in a video message congratulating the Indian team on their triumph.
