New Delhi, January 9: The Pravasi Bharatiya Express, a special tourist train launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday, has offered a free 15-day sightseeing tour to 150 members of the Indian diaspora.
The tour will take participants to several cultural and religious destinations across India.
As part of the Pravasi Teerth Darshan Yojana (PTDY), the Indian government will cover all costs associated with the train journey.
In addition, the government will pay 90% of the return airfare for participants traveling from their country of origin to India. Participants will only need to cover 10% of the cost of their return flights, according to an official involved with the initiative.
