Bhubaneswar, March 20: A preparatory meeting for the upcoming Utkal Diwasa 2025 was held today at Lok Seva Bhavan, chaired by Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja. The meeting discussed plans for the grand celebrations of Utkal Diwasa on April 1.
This year, the main event will be held at Satyabhamapur in Salepur, Cuttack district, the birthplace of Utkal Gaurab Madhusudan Das. The celebration will also take place in Bhubaneswar, New Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai, Chennai, and various districts and sub-divisional headquarters across the state. Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik will be the chief guest at Satyabhamapur, while Ministers, Revenue Commissioners, and District Collectors will attend events in other locations.
The meeting was attended by Development Commissioner Anu Garg and senior state officials. Sanjay Kumar Singh, Principal Secretary of Information and Public Relations, shared details about the celebrations, which will include photo exhibitions, public meetings, felicitation ceremonies, and cultural programs organized by the Odia Language, Literature, and Culture Department. Floral tributes will be paid to statues of eminent personalities, and special editions of Utkal Prasanga and Odisha Review will be released.
The state-level event at Satyabhamapur and Bhubaneswar will be broadcast live, and government offices in the capital will be illuminated. Statues of notable figures will be cleaned, and their surroundings beautified.
The Chief Secretary emphasized the significance of Utkal Diwasa as a day of pride for all Odias and urged all departments to collaborate for vibrant and attractive celebrations.
