Bhubaneswar, June 11: As many as 235 dengue cases have been detected in Odisha this year, the health department said. One case was detected in Bhubaneswar and two cases from Puri on Monday.
"As many as 235 dengue cases have been reported in Odisha this year with higest 65 patients from Khordha district followed by 19 in Cuttack, 17 in Malkangiri and 13 in Puri," said public health director Dr Nilakantha Mishra on Tuesday.
Last year, 107 dengue cases were detected in the state by this period.
All the CDMOs have been directed to take precautionary measures to tackle the spread of dengue along with setting up special dengue wards and make available adequate platelets in all district headquarters hospitals, said Dr Mishra.
The district headquarters hospital employees have been trained for dengue control.
Notably, at least 7,063 dengue patients were detected in the state in 2023 and 6,563 in 2022.
