Bharatpur police & Army Captain row: Judicial Commission to issue notifications for filing affidavits today

Bhubaneswar, Sept 30:The Judicial Commission which has been constituted to probe into the alleged atrocity of Bharatpur police on an Army Captain and his fiancée is going to invite open affidavits from stakeholders today.

The judicial probe that began on Monday from a session with the DGP Police YB Khurania and other allied officials is all set to issue formal notifications today.

The Judicial Commission headed by retired judge of the Orissa High Court, Justice Chittaranjan Das held a meeting with the top cop in connection with the alleged torture to the Army officer and sexual assault of his fiancée by the Bharatpur police on September 14. 

Secretary of the Commission informed media persons that open affidavits will be sought from the complainants, Bharatpur Police and general public who are aware of the case involving the Bharatpur Police, army officer and his fiancée.

Apart from it, public opinion will be invited in this connection to source clues, information and suggestions relevant to the sensational case. 

After receipt and verification of the affidavits, the process of examination will begin wherein statements of the stakeholders will be recorded. Later, the parties will be summoned to appear before the Commission to keep their views and stances relating the case.

Based on the findings the judicial panel will finally compile a report and submit it to the government as soon as possible, the Secretary added.
