While talking to media persons in this connection, Das said once the BMC receives any formal directives from the Odisha government, necessary steps would be taken soon.
There are several housing projects which have come up on agricultural land. In several places, builders have sold property and there is no control over several aspects including encroachment on drainage channels which were earlier part of some panchayats.
On the other hand, to ensure a sustainable habitat in the city, the BMC has undertaken coducting a third party survey to assess facilities, cleanliness, livable sustainability, sewerage system, security arrangements, parking avenues and disposal of solid wastes in real estates, commercial properties, institutions within the BDA estates, the Mayor said.
It’s why the BDA has engaged M/S DYLIS Business Services Pvt. Ltd. which is conducting the survey in different estates from July 24- August 31, Das added.
