Bhubaneswar, Mar 1: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik will inaugurate the Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar Bus Terminal at Baramunda in Bhubaneswar at 5.45 pm on Friday.
Spanning 15 acres, this state-of-the-art terminal is designed to accommodate up to 30,000 passengers and 700-800 buses daily. With 115 car parking spaces in the basement and room for 2,000 buses, it is a significant addition to the infrastructure.
Dubbed the Baramunda Bus Terminal or BSABT, it represents a technological marvel with features such as electric stairs, elevators, and a well-appointed food court. Large LED screens will display vital bus-related information, and convenient lifts and escalators facilitate movement between floors. Moreover, the terminal offers air-conditioned rooms akin to those found in upscale hotels.
In addition to a range of services like front office assistance, medical aid, ATM access, and dining options under one roof, passengers can also avail themselves of the Ahar Plus Center. This facility aims to enhance the overall travel experience. Mission Shakti Cafe and Millet Cafe provide homemade food options, while a dedicated sports hall keeps waiting children entertained.
Ensuring passenger safety is paramount, as demonstrated by the presence of a police outpost staffed by 89 officers within the terminal premises. Overall, the Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar Bus Terminal stands as a modern and comprehensive hub, catering to the diverse needs of travelers with efficiency and comfort.
