Bhubaneswar, January 18: A major drug bust took place at Biju Patnaik International Airport when Customs officials intercepted a large shipment of marijuana worth ₹7 crore.
The contraband was seized from a young man who had arrived from Bangkok. He has been detained for questioning as authorities work to uncover more details about the smuggling network.
It is reportedly said that the marijuana seized is part of a larger smuggling operation.
Over the past 15 days, Customs officials have intercepted drugs at approximately ₹15 crore in value at the airport, with shipments originating from Bangkok and Kuala Lumpur.
So far, three individuals—including two women—have been arrested in connection with the ongoing investigation.
