Baripada, Aug 25: Warden of Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalay was disengaged and the Headmistress was put under suspension on Sunday following the death of a Class-VI girl in the school hostel.
Disciplinary actions against the warden and HM were initiated by the district admin after the parents of the deceased student alleged of lapses in adequate treatment to the girl and locals staged a roadblock on Khunda State Highway keeping the body of the minor girl on the road.
As per sources, the class VI student residing in the hostel of the school suddenly fell sick on Saturday night.
She was rushed to Khunta hospital where the doctor declared her dead. The circumstances that led to her death are yet to be ascertained.
Being informed, the District Education Officer (DEO) recommended the suspension of the headmistress Gayatri Sethi and dismissed hostel Warden Minati Mohapatra, on the charges of dereliction of duty.
