Baripada, Oct 8: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi released the second phase money (Rs 5000) of 1st installment of Subhadra Yojana to the bank accounts of women beneficiaries on Wednesday with beginning of Durga Puja celebrations.
The Chief Minister Released the money at a special Subhadra Conclave organized at Baripada town of Mayurbhanj district in presence of Deputy CM Pravati Parida. Thousands of women gathered at the concleave from today morning to attend the programme.
Chief Minister Mohan Majhi was accorded a warm welcome by the beneficiaries of the scheme at the programme. “We have gathered here from 10 am to have a glimpse of our beloved Chief Minister and get the first installment of Subhadra money,” said a group of women present at the programme.
Around 35 lakh beneficiaries received Rs 5,000 each under the ambitious women-centric scheme in the second phase disbursement of the 1st installment.
The ambitious scheme was launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on his birthday, September 17.
The scheme aims to provide Rs 50,000 financial support to women between the ages of 21 and 60 in Odisha by providing Rs 10,000 annually to eligible beneficiaries.
The payments will be distributed in two installments each year, on Raksha Bandhan and on International Women’s Day (March 8).
To ensure the successful implementation of this initiative, the Odisha government has allocated asubstantial budget of Rs 10,000 crore for financial year 2024-25.
