Angul, Jan 10: In a tragic incident, an elderly man was trampled to death by an elephant in Daturagarh forest of Odisha’s Angul district today morning.
The deceased has been identified as Sambhunath Pradhan (62).
As per reports, Shambhunath had gone to the nearby forest for some work when he encountered a stray wild elephant. Thereafter, the pachyderm attacked him and trampled him to death.
Upon getting the information, forest officials arrived at the spot and recovered the body. Subsequently, it was sent for post-mortem.
Further investigation into the matter was underway.
