Deogarh, June 11: In a tragic incident, a woman was allegedly hacked to death by her son in Katrapali area under Riamal police limits in Deogarh district on Monday night.
The deceased has been identified as Kuntala Kishan of Katrapali. The tragic incident is believed to have stemmed from a family dispute, according to sources.
Reportedly, the accused, Suresh Kishan, brutally attacked his mother while she slept at home. Allegedly, an argument escalated into violence when Suresh, in a fit of rage, used a sharp weapon to fatally harm his mother.
The incident came to light on Tuesday morning when locals discovered the scene. They apprehended the accused son and handed him over to the police.
Authorities have launched an investigation into the matter.
