Hyderabad, January 1: In a bizarre turn of events, a 25-year-old man in Telangana who attempted to rob a liquor store ended up falling asleep after drinking alcohol inside, police reported on Wednesday.
The man, a habitual drinker and laborer by profession, allegedly entered the wine shop in Narsingi, Medak district, by removing part of the asbestos roof on Sunday night. His intention was reportedly to steal, but after consuming some alcohol, he fell unconscious instead.
The shop owner discovered the man the following morning, lying unconscious on the shop floor. Alongside him were several liquor bottles stashed in a bag, as well as cash that had been taken from the store's cash register.
