Bhubaneswar, June 27: With Senior IPS officer Ashish Kumar Singh’s unauthorised absence in his office after end of his sanctioned leave, Odisha Home Department on Thursday wrote a letter to the Director General of Police.
As the IPS officer has neither informed the department regarding extension of his leave nor he resumed his office yet, the Home department of Odisha government sought information about him from the DGP.
In the letter to the DGP , OSD-cum-Additional Secretary, Home Department, Muralidhar Mallik said Singh was allowed leave for a month on health grounds from May 4.
“More than one month has passed but the department is yet to receive any communication on this matter. It is, therefore, requested to kindly furnish above information to this department for further necessary action,” read the letter.
Worth mentioning, the Election Commission of India (ECI) had earlier directed Singh to appear before a medical board constituted by doctors of AIIMS-Bhubaneswar, to report the health conditions of Singh, who was on a medical leave.
