Hot and humid conditions to prevail in Odisha

Bhubaneswar, June 7: Odisha will witness a gradual rise in maximum day temperature by 2 degrees Celsius to 3 degree Celsius during next five days at many places in the state, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said on Friday.

Odisha may not get respite from the hot and humid conditions anytime soon as hot weather may persist in parts of the state until the southwest monsoon arrives, weather experts said.

Heat wave condition is likely to prevail at one or two places over the districts of Bargarh, Bolangir, Nuapada today.

Southwest Monsoon has further advanced into some more parts of central Arabian Sea, most parts of Karnataka, some more parts of Maharashtra, Telangana & Coastal Andhra Pradesh, most parts of Westcentral Bay of Bengal and some more parts of Northwest Bay of Bengal, the IMD said.

Conditions are favourable for further advance of Southwest Monsoon into some more parts of central Arabian Sea,remaining parts of Karnataka & Coastal Andhra Pradesh, some more parts of Maharashtra (including Mumbai), Telangana, some parts of south Chhattisgarh & South Odisha, remaining parts of Westcentral & more parts of Northwest Bay of Bengal during the next 3-4 days, it added.
