Punjab's Director General of Police (DGP), Gaurav Yadav, confirmed on Monday that a joint operation between the Uttar Pradesh Police and Punjab Police led to a significant encounter with three operatives of the Khalistan Zindabad Force (KZF) in Pilibhit, Uttar Pradesh. During the operation, law enforcement recovered two AK-47 rifles and two Glock pistols.

In a press briefing, Yadav revealed that the operation targeted a KZF module masterminded by Pakistan-based Ranjit Singh Nita, the leader of the extremist group. Nita coordinated the module's activities through Greece-based Jaswinder Singh Manu, who was linked to the module's leader, Varinder Elias Ravi.

Yadav also speculated that a British Army soldier might have played a role in planning the attack. He stated, “This marks a significant breakthrough against ISI-backed terrorism in Punjab. The joint operation by UP Police and Punjab Police resulted in an encounter with three Khalistan Zindabad Force operatives in Pilibhit, where we seized two AK-47 rifles and two Glock pistols.”

The three suspects, who engaged in a firefight with police, were identified as Varinder Singh alias Ravi, Gurvinder Singh, and Jaspreet Singh alias Pratap Singh. All three hailed from the Kalanaur police station area and were allegedly involved in a grenade attack on the Bakshiwala police post.

Yadav further explained that the KZF module was directly controlled by Ranjit Singh Nita from Pakistan, with operations being coordinated by Jaswinder Singh Manu in Greece. Manu is from the same village, Agma, as one of the operatives, Varinder Elias Ravi, who led the module in India.
