Junior Revenue Assistant dismissed from govt. service following Vigilance conviction

Bhubaneswar, April 18: Pradeep Kumar Sahu, Junior Revenue Assistant of the office of Settlement Officer, Ganjam district was dismissed from Govt. service after being convicted by Odisha Vigilance.

Sahu who was charge sheeted by Odisha Vigilance in Berhampur for demanding and accepting bribe from a complainant for supply of copy of Yadast relating to his landed properties, was convicted by Special Judge, Vigilance, Berhampur on 11.09.2023 and sentenced to undergo rigorous imprisonment for a period of 2 years and fine of Rs.10, 000 and in default of payment of fine, to undergo further rigorous imprisonment for a period of 2 months more for the offence. The Court had also sentenced him to undergo rigorous imprisonment for a period of 1 year and payment of fine of Rs.5, 000 and in default of payment of fine, to undergo further rigorous imprisonment for a period of 1 month more for the offence.
