Puri, July 5:The Ratna Bhandar inventory Committee has been reconstituted on Friday. Former Justice of Odisha High Court Biswanath Rath heads the 16 member team formed to look after opening and valuation of the gems and jewels of the Ratna Bhandar (treasure house) .of the Sri Jagannath temple.
Odisha Law Minister Prithiviraj Harichandan said on Friday the decision on the opening date of Puri Srimandir Ratna Bhandar will be taken on July 6 at the meeting of the newly-constituted 16-member committee. It will decide the modalities on how the work will progress and how the inventory will be done, and what external agencies will be included for testing the quality of the ornaments.
Justice Biswanath Rath, who is heading the 16-member committee formed by Odisha government to take a final decision on Puri Srimandir Ratna Bhandar opening, said that the first meeting of the committee will be held tomorrow (July 6).
A decision regarding the opening of the treasure trove and the subsequent works is likely to be taken here with the consensus of the members. Accordingly, decisions are also likely to be taken here on the repair of the inner treasure trove and the inventory of ornaments and jewels, Justice Rath added.
