Bhadrak, July 2: A lone mother of Odisha’s Bhadrak district has recently clinched India Book of Records for sonnets written on her son’s death.
An anthology of poems relating to the tragic death of a young champ son brought the unprecedented recognition for a bereaved mother Sujata Khatua who hails from the Naripur area of Bhadrak Town.
According to reports,Sujata was living a jubilant life with her young son who was pursuing MBBS Degree abroad. However, a sudden accident snatched everything from her and put the life in sheer despair. Her expected-doctor son faced a fatal road mishap just before his final-year exam. He was rushed to the hospital for resuscitation where he was declared dead.
Following this, Sujata began recollecting her son’s sweet memoirs, stitched them with words & thoughts and composed into heart touching poems. The creations comprised offerings to Lord Jagannath, other bhajans, some key events with her son and poems relating to road safety and mass awareness. Ultimately,she registered the anthology of poems to the India Book of Records.
Based on the themes and valuable submission of the poems, she was awarded the coveted achiever's medal of the India Book of records and the Certificate of Excellence.
